1966 323 Sandpiper
1 24.5', wooden day boat (prototype of the Piper). Built for Mrs J S Buchanan. This wooden hull was used to make the plug and mould for the Piper One Design series of GRP yachts. The 24.5' GRP Piper class was designed by David Boyd in 1966 for Clyde racing. A total of 57 GRP Pipers were finished and built at Alexander Robertson's yard, several of which were exported. This was the last wooden boat built at the yard before the Robertson family sold the yard in 1966. This in effect ended wooden boatbuilding at the yard, as only one other wooden boat was built there, until the yard closed in 1980.
1967 325 Storm Piper 1 1 24.5' GRP Piper class designed by David Boyd, original owner J R Gibb, Paisley. Sail Number 1. The GRP hull and decks were initially moulded by Marine Plastics of Grimsby, and fitted out at Sandbank. Stormpiper was the first of fifteen hulls moulded for Robertsons Yard by Marine Plastics.
1967 326 Peter Piper, Solitaire 2 1 24.5' GRP Piper class designed by David Boyd, original owner J H Parrish. Sail Number 2. The GRP hull and decks were initially moulded by Marine Plastics of Grimsby, and fitted out at Sandbank. She sailed successfully on the Clyde until 1985 and then spent the next 13 years as Solitaire on the River Tamar.

1973-80
Piper No 46-58
(13) 24.5' Piper class designed by David Boyd. It was not until 1973 that Robertsons established its own GRP production facility, and were able to make the hulls. Only thirteen complete boats were constructed at Robertson's Yard (46-58) before construction ceased with hull No. 58 (57 boats, No 13 never made).
